Dear Mr. President: On behalf of Teamsters Local 676 of Collingswood, N. J. and the South Jersey Labor Council of Southern New Jersey, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join the citizens of Cherry Hill, N. J. for the dedication of a living memorial to our great nation's bicentennial. On Sunday, May 1, 1977, there will be an outstanding dedication of 750 planted cherry trees which are a tribute to the bicentennial celebration. This dedication will be the prelude to the Township's annual cherry blossom parade. I feel that it will have a gigantic impact on your popularity if you could possibly arrange your very difficult schedule to visit our community on this memorable day. I recognize the fact that you have numerous requests in this area of visitations, however, because of the importance of the bicentennial year, it would be a tremen- dous opportunity for you and this great nation of ours. The community of Cherry Hill would appreciate your presence very much in order to share this occa- sion with you. The 750 cherry trees that were planted in Cherry Hill are more than what were planted at the Tidal Basin. These trees were planted along our main thorofare over a period of five years, and they symbolize the name of our fine community, Cherry Hill. I want to take this opportunity on behalf of 15,000 union members and the residents of Cherry Hill to thank you in advance for any concerted effort you may make to attend this outstanding bicentennial celebration on Sunday, May 1, 1977.
