Dear Mr. President: I would like to register a complaint about the disgusting medical care available in the United States. It has be- come impossible for the average family in the United States to cope with the continuing rise in costs for medical care. Just care for a case of the flu can run a family in debt. Hospital care for a member of a family can vir- tually wipe a family out, running them into debt that will take years to come out of. I suggest some sort of government aid for persons in debt because of high medical bills. Another suggestion might be government control of hospitals with the gov- ernment paying expenses and even doctors' wages, thereby giving the public free care or just charging a nominal fee. Although this may sound like socialism Government control is the only way to release the burdon on the pub- lic.
