Dear Sir: We the student body of Greenwood School listened attentively to your address to Congress at 11:30 A.M. today, asking a Declaration of War on the Empire of Japan. We appreciate the fact that it was the first time in the history of the United States that school children and civilians as well, had such a privilege. Before us was a large flag. We stood at attention when the band played the Star Spangled Banner. We also pledged allegiance to the flag and many of us purchased defense stamps. We pledged to help our country win this war.
