Your presence at the commemoration -- so soon after the terrible injury inflicted upon you and the surgery you were compelled to undergo -- was in itself a manifestation of your commitment to the work of the Holocaust Memorial Council. But those who were honored to be at the ceremony were conscious of more than your presence. What we saw and heard was a man of eloquence, of dignity, and of humanity.
