My dear President: First of all I desire to congratulate you upon your re-election as President of these great United States. I have been one of your most loyal supporters ever since you first ran for the Presidency, and I assure you of my continued support so long as you remain in public life. I am a naturalized citizen of the United States of America, having received my naturalization papers in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, on October 8, 1880. I am taking the liberty of sending you a goose for your enjoyment during the Christmas season, and trust that my action in so doing meets with your approval. The bird was raised by myself and fed and nourished according to the old time custom in Czechoslovakia. It weighs seventeen pounds, and the nourishment given it has been nothing but the best. I sincerely hope this little token of appreciation will add a little to your enjoyment of the holiday season, and I wish for you many years of continued health and prosperity.
