The Honorable George Bush

Dear President Bush:
I am a Senior at Merrillville High School in Merrillville,
Indiana. By next fall's election I will be of voting age.
One issue that interests me is the possibility that MIA's
of the Vietnam War are still living and are prisoners in Indo-
China. I am curious as to what your opinion on this subject
is. Through research I am now conducting, I have found little
information concerning governmental investigations into alleged
sightings. What steps are currently being taken to determine
whether or not American MIA's are indeed being held in Indo-
China?
This summer, a photo surfaced showing a man in a Laotian
prison camp. This man, Major Donald G. "Butch" Carr, of East
Chicago, Indiana, is my cousin. Since he is listed as going
down over twenty years ago, I do not personally know him, but
my dad has told me many stories about the good times that he
and "Butch" had during their childhoods.
More than 2,331 soldiers are listed as missing in action
in the Vietnam War. I think it is time that the families of
these men know the truth about the disappearance of their loved
ones.
Sincerely yours,
Qenxifer cass
