Your Excellency:- Your address on Washington, delivered today before Congress, was so inspiring that I am compelled to write to thank you for its splendid sentiments. I read it today, during the noon-bour, when I was low in spirits and suffering the discouragements of "Blue Monday". Permit me to say, that your Wasbington address has uplifted my spirits and given me a new stock of courage. Who could be downcast when reminded of Washington's terrific trials, and the sublime fortitude be manifested? Mr. President, I thank you sincerely for your noble message to the American people. I am only one, but I am sure there are many thousands of others who have been helped by the address you delivered today.
