enal. 8/31 73 Magazine Street 7.10 Cambridge, Mass. August 28, 1965 President Johnson: This is a plea. Dennis Wilson, drummer of the Beach Boys, who resides in the Hollywood Hills of California, means a great deal to us. We realize that Denny is just as qualified as anyone else to be drafted, but according to regulations, Dennys hair would have to be cut. We were wondering if it would be to much to ask you to let Denny keep his hair. We do not think this would be such a big favor since Dennys hair isn't half as long as The Beatles and is moderately cut and styled for a young man of today. Since you give such great aid to people in other foreign countries we feel there is no reason for you to ignore our request. Especially since Denny's hair is of such vital importance to him. We would be very grateful for your cooperation in this matter. Gratefully yours, Beach Boys fans of the U.S.A. wilson 3
