Box 15498, Ann Arbor, MI 48106 Executive Committee Asad Khailany, D.Sc., Chairman Firoz Jalili, Ph.D., Secretary Asfandiar Shukri, M.D., Treasurer Ahmed Aziz, D.D.S. Omar Halmat Najmaldin Karim, M.D. Mozaffar Partowman, Ph.D. Shawbo Saaty Ahmed Uthman, M.D. 8915434 June 3, 1989 JUL-05 10:27 AM President George Bush The White House Washington, DC 20500 Dear President Bush: On May 31, 1989 Iraqi military forces deported the entire population of 10,000 Kurds (1850 families) from the village of TOWESOOR which is located 8 kilometers east of the city of Qaladza in the province of Sulaimania, Iraq. Further, the Iraqi government has gathered a huge military force in the city of Qaladza to deport its entire population (approximately 100,000) to the southern desert area of Iraq. One more time the Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, has demonstrated his determination to continue a genocidal war against the Kurdish people. We expect a massacre in the city of Qaladza. We appeal to you on behalf of American and Canadian Kurds and the Kurds all over the world to use your good office to prevent the impending massacre of the Kurds in Iraq and to stop the Iraqi government from deporting Kurds from their homeland and resettling imported Arabs from Egypt, Sudan and Yemen in their place. Sincerely, Dr. Asad Khailany, Chairman
