The President
The White House
Washington, D.C.
Mr. President:
I wish to take this opportunity to recommend Reginald E. Gilliam
Jr. for a seat on the Interstate Commerce Commission.
Mr. Gilliam, is presently Senator Glenn's top Legislative Assistant.
He is a skilled negotiator with a broad knowledge of transportation
issues and programs. He is sensitive to the concerns of minority
truckers and small businessman, and would bring to the Commission
the perspectives of these groups. His keen understanding of the
political system and its impact on public policy will make him.
unique and effective as a commissioner.
I would strongly urge you to give Mr. Gilliam serious consideration
for a seat on the Interstate Commerce Commission.
Sincerely,
Derman HERMAN J. RUSSELL J.
