Dear Mr. President; As a resident of California, I am very concerned about the plight of the farmers who are affected by the Reclamation Act of 1902. Since you are pondering the situation, I urge you to support Gov. Brown"s proposal of at least 640 acres of subsidized water from the federal government projects, with an option of irrigating an additional 640 scres at government cost, and exempt the Imperial Valley area. With the present cost of living, and the price of farm machinery, how can the farmer make a decent living? Realistically, could you have made it? How would you react if you were to be forced into this situation? California, being rich in agriculture, is essential to the production and distribution, of food throughout the United States. Our hard working farmers need your support in making their farms feasible. Please, I urge you to consider Governor Brown"s recommendations, and act upon it. Yours very truly, Carol J. Berry, Carol J.
