Dear Mrs. Carter, And we traveled to Washington to see the ornament proudly displayed in the Blue Room for all to see how creative we are. These are the words expressed by the students at the Manville High School Special Education Department. Ms. Kathy Stefanshyn, teacher, friend and Advocate of retarded young adults called us with great excitement after her trip to Washington to take pictures of the Christmas Tree Ornament designed by her class. I remember the day they brought their precious offering for the exhibit to our office and the millions of questions regarding where it would be placed. All of their enthusiasm was rewarded as they gazed upon the pictures Ms. Stefanshyn snapped and displayed in the school. We are extremely grateful to you Mrs. Carter for the idea of placing the ornaments in the White House. Each American feels your home to be a part of himself. you have quite willingly opened your heart and your home to us, we shall always think of Our First Lady as our friend.
