The Honorable Jimmy Carter
President of the United States
and Mrs. Carter
The White House
Washington, D.C.
Dear President and Mrs. Carter:
It seems so long ago, and on the other hand, it seems
like just yesterday that I had the pleasure and privilege
of interviewing you as President and First Lady-Elect.
Now I am hoping that you will once more do me the honor
of interviewing you both again during these very
important last days in office.
My thought is that we do something similiar to our
original conversation that is, a relaxed look at
your four years in the White House, talking of the
happiest times there and the most difficult.
Perhaps, Mrs. Carter you might want to show us one
or two of the rooms in your private section SO that the
public might see how it reflects you both. We might
show the books you read, and the articles you keep
close to you. If you would rather not, however, that's
fine with us too.
The interview could be aired in December or January.
I would be very happy to talk with Jody to make whatever
arrangements you would like,
That interview of ours four years ago first showed people
what Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter were really like. It showed
your warmth, sensitivity and commitment. This interview,
at this time, I'm sure would do the same.
Most sincerely,
alone
