SERVICE Dear Sir: I notice that you are still trying to force the of compulsory medical insurance on us. Theoretically, this wouldn't cost the individual much;s-in direct payroll taxes. You-neglect to tell us that by the time the bungling and wasteful administration of this plan would be added; that the deficit would be merely added to our other multitudinous taxes, making the cost of the plan a hundred times the appar- ent cost. I just want you to know a lot of us are smart enough to know that YOU can't GIVE us anything. We pay and pay and pay for every dole you toss to us. I would much rather be at the mercy of the average ethical medical man than another government bureau that doesn't need to run at a profit; money is wasted and tossed around and thrown down the bottomless gullets of fat politicians; and the deficit is taken from us in more taxes. There are a lot of voluntary plans with reputable insurance companies that as a free enterprise must run at a profit; they have to practice economy and in turn give us our moneys worth. If you would rather ferret out the communis tic and socialistic advisers in the government and start thinking like an American and rather protect and guard our freedoms instead of thinking up plans to further the power of the government over us, you would be fulfilling the job we gave you to do. But stop trying to give us "gifts". They cost us too much in the long run. Dictators too exchange "gifts to the people" for their freedom; and the people never get their freedom back.
