THE HONORABLE RICHARD M. NIXON,
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES,
THE WHITE HOUSE,
WASHINGTON, D.C.
Dear Mr. President:
Your decision to go to the Soviet Union as well as to the Republic
of China in 1972 is one of vital importance to the future of our and the World's opp-
ortunity for the development of peaceful solutions to many existing international pro-
blems.
Your basic political "sense" when combined with your legal intuit-
iveness, which have served this country so well to date, give you the training and natural
instincts to dig deeply in to the minds of the Spviet and Chinese leaders and understand
their real thinking and feelings towards US and what we stand for in this day and age.
As a student of our Presidency and the men who have occuppied the
office since George Washington it is my sincere feeling that you are the best qualified
President of the United States to represent the Country in negotiations of this type who
has been in The White House during this century.
With every good wish to you Mr. President,
Sincerely,
Toon
