Dear Mr. President:
I just listened to your speech on T.V. re your
proposed Tax Cut. It makes good common sense.
As you pointed out, by creating more employment
our country will be more prosperous. One fact
was not brought out in so many words: By creat-
ing more employment we also create a larger revenue
for the government which will be a far larger gain
to the government than the loss by cutting taxes.
While a lot of people, like myself, realize this
will happen, the vast majority will have missed
the point. The old proverb, "He couldn't see t he
Forest for the Trees", may well apply to some members
of our congress.
From a sincerely interested citizen
(namely. a Housewife)
Sincerely,
(mrs.) Louise V. Thorpe
