Letter from 11-year old Paul Benvie to President Bush expressing that he would like to join the space program, see the earth from space, and to help our planet’s condition

289138 NASA Main Street Pleasant Valley, NY 12569 October 8, 1991 Dear Mr. President, Hello. How are you? My name is Paul Benvie. I am going to be eleven in November. The big reason I am writing to you is that I want to join the space program. I think someone other than adults should be able to see earth from space. I read a lot about NASA and what they do. Even though it's a dangerous job, I would love to tackle the challenge, at my age. When I asked some of my friends they said I was crazy, but when you're out there you can learn more about the vast universe, and more importantly, our own planet earth. I would like to go up in a shuttle. Not for just the personal glory, but to find new ways to help the planet's condition and also people them- selves.
