Dear Girls and Boys:
I was pleased to receive your letters, and
I congratulate you on your interest in our
Nation.
Some of you have agreed with my decision to
pardon former President Nixon. Others have
disagreed. The important thing, however,
is that all of you took the time to write
and to share your beliefs. America needs
people who are willing to disagree on
different issues. We have a better chance
of learning more about ourselves and our
country if we listen to all sides. Even
when we are sure we are right, we can learn
from those who disagree with us.
To each of you I send my thanks for letting
me know how you feel about this.
With my best wishes for the years ahead.
Sincerely,
GERALD

My name is John Aglio and I
would like to express my opinion
about Your not pressing changesagainst
ex-President Nixon.
I do not have to be an adult to
know that you did theright thing.
I am only eleven years old, but I do
under stand enough to say to you that
Mr. Nixon was punished a great deal
by resigning, and that now he should
be left alone with his family
Thank you for Reading
my opinion

Dear President Ford,
l am very happy that you are our new president
but there is a slight error. l dont think you should have
let Mr. Nixion go so easy. l think he should have
gone to court to find out the truth. Then know
what to do.
Itis not fair to the other people even knowing
that he was a good president. all people must pay
for what they have done. They say crime dorent
pay.

I think you did the wrong
thing by pardoningEX-President
Nixon, The other men that did
wrong things like Resident
Nixon had to pay for what they
did. I think it is unfair to the

pardoned EX President Nixon

he was going through. I felt.

Dear Mr President
I know that you are a very busy man, but I hope
you will read this letter. I think it was wrong of you
to give a full pardon to Mr. Nixon, He resigned be-
cause he would have been impeached if he didn't resign.
He admitted that he made many mistakes,
I think that Mr. Nixon should have been brought to
trail, All people in our country should be able to look
UP to the President.
Iam 11 /2 years old and I think that it is wrong
for any one to cheat, steal or lie, especially
people who run the country, Who can I look up
to ? You now make me feel that if I do wrong I
S hould be excused also even if I am guilty of
a crime,
Sincerely

I disagree with you pardoning
ex-President nixon
nixon should have known
that he would have been caught
sooner or later. He won the first election
without cheating, so why should he
have cheated on the second one.
nixon in glad you are pardoning
him, but some people don't like what
you're doing.
People break the law and are
punished for it. nixon broke the law
so he should be punished.

not have been pardoned
